Impress提供了两个独立的与文本格式相关的对话框。 Impress provides two separate dialogs related to text formatting. (1)
- 要修改如字体、体效果等格式，选择形状中的文本，然后点击格式 > 字符。这在第3章中详细介绍。 To modify the formatting such as font, font effects and so on, select the text in the shape and then go to Format > Character. This is covered in Chapter 3. (2)
- 确定添加到一个线条或一个形状的文本如何作为，使用文本对话框中的设置，如本节所述。 To determine how the text which is added to a line or a shape behaves, use the settings on the Text dialog, as described in this section. (3)
格式化文本之前，将它添加到对象（形状或线条）： Before formatting text, add it to the object (a shape or a line): (4)
- 选择添加文本的对象。 Select the object to which text will be added. (5)
- 当显示绿色（或蓝色）调整大小的控点后，双击对象，等待光标成为I型或直接开始输入。 With the green (or blue) resizing handles showing, double-click on the object and wait for the cursor to become an I-beam or just start typing. (6)
- 键入文本。完成后，点击对象以外的地方或按Esc键。 Type the text. When finished, click somewhere outside the object or press Esc. (7)
要格式化形状中的文本： To format the text in a shape: (8)
- 选择添加了文本的对象。 Select the object to which text was added. (9)
- 选择格式 > 文字或右键点击形状，然后从弹出式菜单中选择文本。显示文本对话框。 Select Format > Text or right-click on the shape and select Text from the pop-up menu. The Text dialog is displayed. (10)
设置文本属性的主对话框。 Main dialog to set the text properties. (11)
该对话框上面的部分以复选框形式提供了几种选择。部分复选框为灰色，这要取决于相应的文本所依附的对象。 The top section of the dialog offers several options in the form of checkboxes. Some of the checkboxes will be grayed out, depending on the object to which the text will be attached. (12)
- 选择和文字宽度对应，如果文本比形状或线条长，延展形状或线条宽度。 Select Fit width to text to expand the width of the shape or line if the text is longer than it. (13)
- 选择图形中文字换行，到达形状的边缘后，自动开始新行。 Select Word wrap text in shape to automatically start a new line when the edge of the shape is reached. (14)
- 选择和文字高度对应，如果对象比文字更小（线条的默认设置），增加对象的高度。 Select Fit height to text to expand the object height whenever it is smaller than the text (set by default for lines. (15)
- 选择调整形状大小以适应文字，插入形状中文字太大时，扩大自定义的形状。 Select Resize shape to fit text to expand a custom shape when the text inserted in the shape is too large. (16)
- 选择和边框大小相对应，扩展文本，以填满所有可用的空间。 Select Fit to frame to expand the text so that it fills all the available space. (17)
- 选择文字流对应轮廓，使文本跟随一条曲线。 Select Adjust to contour to make the text follow a curved line. (18)
在至边界的距离部分，指定要留给形状的边界或线条和文本之间的空间，类似于缩进和段落间距的设置。 In the Spacing to borders section, specify the amount of space to be left between the border of the shape or line and the text; this is similar to the settings for indentation and spacing for paragraphs. (19)
文字锁定网格用来决定文本固定在哪里锚。 整个宽度复选框确定是否应按形状的全宽进行锚固。 The text anchor grid is used to decide where to anchor the text. The Full width checkbox determines if the anchoring should be performed to the full width of the shape. (20)

使用此页设定应用于文本的特殊效果。选择效果列表中的四个选项；如适用，选择右边四个箭头按钮中的一个以确定效果的方向。可用的效果是： Use this page to specify special effects applied to the text. Choose between four options in the list and where applicable the direction of the effect picking one of the four arrow buttons to the right. The available effects are: (22)
- 闪烁，文本将在屏幕上闪烁。 Blink: the text will blink on the screen. (23)
- 滚动通过，文本按选择的方向移动进入形状，然后退出形状。 Scroll through: the text will move into the shape and then out following the chosen direction. (24)
- 来回滚动，文本将不会退出形状的边界，以及首先的选定的方向移动。 Scroll back and forth: the text will not exit the shape border and move first in the chosen direction. (25)
- 进入，文本将从形状的边缘开始，沿给定的方向进入。 Scroll in: the text will scroll in towards the given direction starting from the edge of the shape. (26)
默认情况下没有活动效果。 By default no animation is applied. (27)
其他可以设置的属性是： The other properties that can be set are: (28)
- 从内开始复选框：选中后，动画将从形状内部开始。 Start inside checkbox: when set the animation will start from inside the shape. (29)
- 编辑时文本可见复选框：选中后，编辑时可以看到文字。 Text visible when editing checkbox: set this box to see the text while editing. (30)
- 动画循环次数：包括另外三个选项来设置动画的频率，两种动画位置之间的步长，最后是动画开始之前的延迟。 Animation cycles: includes three further options to set the frequency of the animation, the increments between two positions of the animation and finally the delay before the animation starts. (31)
要看到有些动画设置的效果，必须开始演示。点击 F5 键，或从主菜单选择演示文稿 > 幻灯片放映。要返回到编辑模式，按 Esc 键。 To see some of the animations in action, it is necessary to start the presentation. Press F9 or select Slide Show > Slide Show from the main menu. To return to the edit mode, press Esc. (32) (译者注：原文中为F9键，但是至少在Windows系统上，应该是F5键)
